Happy #SundayBumDay, y’all! Giving you the full video of my performance from last night’s THAT FREESTYLE SHOW with @bodyandpole @findingyourfreestyle @traceekafer 💙🩵 My freestyle prompt I gave myself was to dance with NO inversions (not even a chopper), and there were moments I loved where I would usually default to some kind of leg hang or shoulder mount and did a psych out with some low flow flow/non-inverted shapes. Definitely had fun playing with it and showing how you don’t NEED an invert for a fulfilling dance! As I’m watching this back, another thought/concept arose as far as how this was unintentionally approached: The song, #OnlyHaveEyes42 by @janellemonae, is a song about polyamorous love and allowing to love freely in that way. Being solo Poly myself, it really hit to perform to this song as I’m inspired by those I get to comfortably share my sensual side with in private 🙇🏽‍♂️ Dancing on all three poles ended up being the personification of spreading love, flirtation and sharing space/emotions with multiple souls. THAT is the additional beauty of freestyling! Thank you once again @traceekafer for seeing the light in me, allowing me to always show up as my truest, most raw form! Freestyle is crucial for emotional/spiritual fulfillment as a dancer, and it’s an honor to be in a space you’ve crafted to celebrate it 🫶🏽✨ Don’t forget to catch me in class for the rest of this week until I go on vacation!
