R to @default_friend: It's an appeal to counterculture, right? Hip-hop and punk were ignored by mainstream media until they were undeniable. Then they were worshipped. Now, we have identity wars fighting for the ultimate underdog trophy. I'm not sure we'll ever have a genuine counterculture again.
