So many people (here & elsewhere) have told me they 💯 agree with this piece I wrote the other day... 👇 ... but what I find hard is knowing what the solution is? What would you do, if you were me? https://medium.com/p/1bd0af37d0c5 I've always felt that what @HeyCharlie___ provides is, to news, like whole-foods are in a climate of highly-processed supermarket junk food. We read news because it's tasty, moreish and depressingly addictive – largely because of the kind of narcissistic nonsense I set out below. How then do we build our suite of news apps to do two conflicting things simultaneously: ➜ Feed people a healthy news diet, avoiding over-processed additives... ➜ Grow an audience and a business in a world awash with tastier alternatives... I wanted to ask the collective LinkedIn brain how this works in a food setting – or in any other market where you're competing against dangerous but addictive alternatives... ... but perhaps I only need to look at the ONS' obesity stats to realise I'm fighting an impossible fight. If you were me ... what would you do?
