RT by @subhobrata1: Day 7 / 30: I redesigned The YC Bot http://theycbot.com (aka chat w/ @ycombinator partners). Created by @siva_1gc BEFORE: - too many buttons (hard for user to know what to focus on) - overall, the design is disorganized and the does not have proper visual hierarchy AFTER: - Add more visuals - Added indicator when a specific character is selected (light glow) - The other characters are grayed out to show they are not selected - brain image in the background to set the mood :D - title and subtitle at the top are centered - the main focus of the page should be selecting a character and typing a question hence why those two forms/buttons are emphasized - there is an option to add extra characters Changed the sample questions to a popup so it doesn't clutter the main screen when user gets on the page

R to @siva_1gc: Our key mission is to empower smaller teams or indie developers building dev tools. There is no way you can win against YC backed startup on PH. Or post-series-A startup. I think it's not fair competition. They are not "launching" on PH. They are just using PH as a marketing channel. There are so many brilliant developers building cool stuff that nobody knows about. We want help to make them noticable by the rest of dev community. This will lead toa better market afterall and better tools for end users
