R to @marc_louvion: I spend quite a bit of time on Reddit to grow my list, so I got some pointers. The community is indeed super cynical but keep in mind, these are all armchair entrepreneurs. If you do 6 figures, you’re a scammer. If you sell your app for 10K, you’re a loser. That said, one thing is very easy to overlook… Despite the hate, you still got dozens of upvotes. That means that the VERY silent group of supporters vastly outweighs the cynicism/nihilism. (Otherwise you would have 1 upvote if the upvotes and downvotes were equal.) So don’t let your mind do what it naturally wants to do: Ignore all the good things and enhance on the negativity. And yes, you obviously are qualified to talk about selling a startup. To say $10K is a bad outcome is to miss the point. It’s not about getting rich, it’s about helping those with the same desire: to build & sell something.
