RT by @keenthinker: Well, thanks for the kind words! I use a cyborg! :D @otter_ai does the heavy lifting once the video is edited, and I have a Virtual Assistant go over each interview episode to check for transcription errors and spice up the transcript (which usually takes a day or so). I then add the resulting SRT files to video/pod and use the full transcript export in the blog post. For the short clips I do, I use the full transcript to sync to @DescriptApp's own internal transcript, and then burn in the captions using Descript's internal tooling. That's for my interview episodes. For my solo eps, I run the final edit through https://github.com/ggerganov/whisper.cpp on my editing computer, do a quick sanity pass myself, and then use it for the video/podcast. No need for a transcript because my blog post (which I pre-write) IS the script for my solo stuff.

R to @shanselman: Exactly. I use an offline password manager, a local NAS storage with raid and additionally a separate drive to backup the NAS. I calculated what would have costed to have the amount of my data in the cloud, after ~2.5 years (investment for NAS) it's cheaper than the cloud.
