Derakhshan Mixed-use. پروژه اداري-تجاري درخشان يزد. The Darakhshan project is an attempt to create a contemporary solution in the historical and valuable contexts of Yazd city. This project is adjacent to the site of the historical Derakhshan textile factory on the edge of Yazd's historical fabric. The building of this factory belongs to the Pahlavi era. A magnificent building with a homogenous structure that has institutionalized the possibility of growth and development within its structure over the years according to the needs of the factory. The idea of designing the Derakhshan building was formed based on the extracting the gene of historical factory. The process of updating the gene of the project was formed by changing the dimensions and simplifying the form. The spatial modules of the project are formed on a linear structure in the direction of the factory. The forward and backward movement of the project and its combination with the sliding terraces make the space between the two buildings dynamic and lively. Geometric ceilings are formed on different floors and are the border between the commercial space on the lower floors and the upper office spaces.
