Ad-Well lovely bunch, the ‘new’ living room, despite still being a work in progress, is really starting to take shape and a huge part of why I love it so much is the lighting! It’s quite a tall, grand room and I really wanted to try and still make it feel warm, inviting and cosy as it’s where I’ll spend my evenings relaxing after a day of DIY, and knew the lighting would play a huge role in doing this. Being attached to the kitchen too, it also had to work during the day as well as is going to be the most used space in the house by a country mile! I actually chose the main pendant in here over 3 years ago! I’ve been a massive fan of @pookylights since, well, forever… and their beautiful lamps and pendants are littered throughout Admirals. I was so tempted to put the Halo chandelier in one of the bedrooms, but knew it would look absolutely perfect under the huge ceiling rose (which I’m very chuffed with, after many hours of cleaning, restoring and painting). It floats elegantly whilst providing real impact, without being too visually heavy… so I was patient, and saved it for in here, and am so happy I did as it’s just perfect there and I’ll get to sit under it every day! Add some beautiful wall lamps with pleated shades that contrast beautifully against the paper and the show stopping pair of lamps on the dresser, right in the middle of the room with incredible scalloped, pleated shades using an @wmorrisandco print, with their gold silk linings casting a gorgeous, warm glow over the sofa on an evening and well, I am so, so thrilled with how it’s starting to feel in here! Even more excitingly, we’re on the countdown to @pookylights opening their first showroom in Northern England at the end of this month – in my beloved Yorkshire no less, at the wonderful @redbrick_mill in Batley, just South of Leeds (ironically only minutes away from where my sister has just moved down from) – an incredible spot with so much to see and I’m hugely excited to be paying a visit a bit later in the year… can’t wait! #renovating #renovation #restoration #myhome #periodhome #diy #houserenovation #homereno #housetohome #renolife #lighting #countryhome #homerestoration #decor
