If you are enchanted by the creative practice of botanical dyeing and are longing to discover it for yourself then I'd love to tell you about a fantastic online workshop soon to be offered by Herbal Academy (released on the 17th July - now enrolling) This comprehensive botanical dye workshop has been brought together and designed by a team of botanical dyers and herbalists. Instructors include Allie Feldman, Babs Behan, Daniella Esposito, Lauren Smith (thats me!), Leya Williams, Sarah Arch, Wai’ala Ahn, Catarina Seixas, and Meagan Visser. As well as covering a wide array of projects and methods in botanical dyeing, it includes a section on paper-making written by yours truly, along with a written and video tutorial with instruction for how to imbue pulp with botanical dye and technique in sheet forming using a traditional deckle and mould. They are also kindly offering a free webinar for a limited 4 day period from the 14th-17th July. The webinar will be about Botanical Dyeing with Calendula and Marigold. These are two flowers that are prolific in my garden at the moment so I can't wait to check in myself.
