Happy Birthday, Colt!🎉💙⁣ ⁣ Nine years ago today, God gave us one of the most amazing gifts. ⁣ ⁣ In Colt’s birth announcement we shared that Colt had been diagnosed with Trisomy 21, Down syndrome.⁣ ⁣ We didn’t know exactly what that meant for Colt, or us, but we were so in love with our precious baby boy and we trusted in God’s goodness and sovereign plan for him and we wanted others to know that. ⁣ ⁣ So, we wrote in our birth announcement…⁣ ……⁣ “We are praying that God will be glorified as we get the opportunity to share with our friends and family why we are just as thrilled and have just as much joy with Colt as with our five others.⁣ ⁣ As we were watching all of our kids cuddling Colt and doting on him and Luke carrying him around singing to him, Jim said, ‘well he couldn’t have been born into a better family to always have someone loving on him and taking care of him :)’⁣ ⁣ Even though we know he’ll be a greater gift to us than we are to him. Really it’s not about him or us but just that it is an opportunity for God to be glorified and we are so grateful for that. We also know that there will be some unique challenges ahead but we have faith in our perfect Father and praise Him for another amazing gift in Colt!” ⁣ ……..⁣ Nine years later and we are still in awe at God’s goodness and plan, and are so thankful for the love, joy, laughter and plenty of mischief 😆 that this special boy, gifted with an extra chromosome, brings to us, and so many! ⁣ ⁣ Happy Birthday, Colt!
