Morning lovely bunch! Well, Ma is earning her keep already and putting her new sewing room to good use! I didn’t think she’d be able to look at my unfinished scraps of fabric hanging from the windows long before getting to work and behold, what a job she’s done! She did try and teach me a bit… I understand the theory for lots of it, but she’s such a perfectionist and I’m well… I feel like my fingers are too big and clumsy for it all so I think watching me have a go is a bit like nails down a blackboard for her! But aren’t they lovely? They provide a little privacy whilst adding some softness and texture. I was worried they’d block the light and view but they really don’t and if I open them up, it feels a bit bare without them now! I really struggled to find the poles, so bought solid brass 12mm rod, polished it and cut it to size, and the little rod sockets are from Hafele and I’m really pleased with how it’s all turned out! I bought 1, 3.2m drop curtain and that did all three windows! Apologies I’ve been a little quiet but it’s been lovely having my folks down and getting them settled in as well as doing lots of little pottering jobs. I’ve the loveliest weekend ahead too as tonight I head to @thesmurfhouse to catch up with my old pal @comedowntothewoods and if that wasn’t enough @sympatheticrestoration is coming too - whoop! I’ve got to be semi-sensible though as on Saturday, I’ve pals coming round and, along with my Pa, we’re setting up an Argentinian style asado grill in the garden and will be cooking all day and into the evening over the open fire. In classic British summer time style, it looks like it’s going to pour down all day, so I need to rig some big tarps up for shelter to turn it into a proper little camp. There will be beer, red wine and plenty of Mezcal to keep the damp at bay though so I’m sure we’ll be grand and I cannot wait! The happiest of Fridays to you lovely people!
