If you followed my channel long enough you may be aware that I often struggle with body image issues. In the early 2000s I struggled with an ED which I pursuing a career as an actress had quite a bit to do with it. When you are constantly in competition with others, You're hyper aware and hypocritical of yourself. I think one of the greatest challenges which is oddly somewhat grounding, because let's face it you have to be - is having hashimoto's. I wasn't diagnosed until 2020. I don't think that the disease was triggered until somewhere around the 2010s. My symptoms really didn't start swinging into motion until around 2018 and peeking somewhat recently. Something that I'm asked quite a lot are questions about my appearance and I may cover this in a video but people often think that I've fallen off the wagon with ED or I've had fillers, Botox or plastic surgery of some kind. The truth actually sucks. Hashimoto's affects many processes in the body the main thing being the thyroid and it's quite an inflammatory condition. It also causes your weight to rise and fall which is why many describe the condition like a roller coaster. Not even my hyperthyroid episode of 2020 which stripped a fair amount of weight for my frame off of me could touch my chubby cheeks imparting somewhat of a bobblehead effect. I've had my eyes randomly swell up for no reason. I avoid the camera those days. Some of you witnessed in a live stream the random uticaria (hive) appear out of the blue. The ones who were there shouting boob which is where it appeared will remember that adventure. Funtimes. It's hard to not be fearful of my own body considering what it does at random beyond my control but I'm trying to take the shit as it comes. I'm also trying desperately to ditch hashimoto's entirely.
