Lot 7- A diaphanous midi-length evening dress in white silk chiffon By Zandra Rhodes “The chiffon is printed in Edwardian style with buttons and bows in a white on white effect. The bodice is softly draped and the skirt is edged with pink glass beads, alternating with simulated pearls. The bodice is also trimmed with silver and pearlized sequins, caught with a white satin corded belt.”- Dresses from the Collection of Diana, Princess of Wales No label but confirmed by the designer I was able to confirm 3 wears for this dress: 1. July 16, 1986, Diana attended the London Festival Ballet's gala performance of 'Onegin' at the London Coliseum. 2. June 24, 1987, she attended a charity gala in aid of Birthright, at the London Palladium. 3. January 26, 1988, she & then Prince Charles posed for a photo with the Governors of Australia and their wives to commemorate the Wales’ visit to Australia. The dress sold for $41,400 USD. The dress was originally purchased, in 1997, by a Florida based businesswoman.
