Saddened to hear the news of the tragically young death of Irish singer Sinéad O’Connor, announced today 26 July 2023. Often sited as a trailblazer for women in the music industry, famously unafraid to share her powerful voice and views with the world. Her ethereal singing voice and extraordinary beauty ensured her 1990 release of ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ written by Prince, became the World No.1 of that year. Michael photographed her 33 years ago, as she performed with Roger Waters of Pink Floyd to 350,000 people in the ‘no man’s land’ area of the Berlin Wall, to celebrate the fall of the wall 8 months earlier.
