⚠️ Please note: There are fences around this area which I do not recommend crossing so please be careful on your visit ⚠️ ~ All about Benagil Cave in Portugal ~ ⬇️ ➡️ How to reach? 1) You can go inside the cave by Kayaking, Kayaks are available to rent near the Benagil beach (starts €15 per person) It took us hardly 10 mins to get there from the beach. 2) You can swim from the beach to cave if you’re comfortable to do so, the distance is fairly short. It takes around 15-20 minutes but please check the weather conditions ⚠️ 3) You can take a boat tour (starts €30) However with a boat tour you will only visit the cave and cannot spend time inside the cave. (You’ll miss out in my opinion) ➡️ How to see the cave from above? If you walk along the coast near Benagil beach, you will be able to see the hole at the surface. This route is a part of the “Seven hanging valleys trail” which is a very rewarding hike in Algarve known for its breathtaking scenery. Also remember you won’t be able to access the cave from the cliffs, to be inside the cave, you need to take the sea route. ➡️ Is it worth it? Benagil Cave is a truly unique wonder of nature and it deserves a place on every Portugal itinerary. I was totally in awe of this place. We visited in January so it wasn’t full of tourists and we enjoyed it to the fullest.
