Chicano power isn’t a catchy phrase to be used lightly nor is it a cultural fade for those of us that live in the spirit of our people, it’s a responsibility and a privilege to be expressed in our daily lives. I know that in today’s society it’s cool to be brown and I think that’s awesome but what we do with this admiration and newly arrived interest is important. I feel strongly that as a member of the true Chicano community it’s my obligation to spread unity within our jenté and to use my momentum in not only the tattoo industry but in the world to open doors, inspire new ideas and explore the possibilities for a brighter future. This back piece I’ve completed today is worn by a fellow Brown brother Jesse, a community activist and active Brown beret here in Califas. I give my tattoos to be worn by the public daily but it’s not every day I get the chance to put my mark on another Razero who has walked the path of life mirroring my own and continues to be of service to the Chicano community.
