Yesterday I had two things happen to me while I was off work: had a very impassioned convo with @robyn_le_phenix about fake trans people, and then realized I needed a new refrigerator(fridge story in comments)😱. Going back to the whole fake trans people thing, I need to give some background: About a month ago while I was out with some friends for my local area pride celebration, they brought someone along who presented male but they had on a knit beanie in the 🏳️‍⚧️ flag colors. They claimed they felt feminine so after trying to be a guy, they decided to “go trans” 🙄🙄😡😡 Let me make this clear to everyone, right now. And yes, I may lose friends or followers saying this, but I’m at the point where I don’t care: People do not just “go trans”. Looking like a dude and not even attempting to appear female, does not count. Wearing a trans colored beanie does not make you trans. All of us who have successfully transitioned from one to the other have done just that- transitioned. I went from one to the other gender and I moved on with my life, simply put. Now, after talking to this person directly, I can assure you they were not even remotely trying to be female. I could get if they can’t afford to change their names, or even change their clothing- we’ve all been there. But the sheer fact that they decided to “go trans” like it’s an option you pull out of a hat? No thank you. Myself and others have worked VERY hard to be who we are, and to have a successful life as our true gender, and I don’t appreciate being made a mockery of. And yes, I’ll die on that hill. So yeah.
