One ordinary Friday night during the summer holidays. We met Hiro after work, at a train stn near us and headed to the park to see which bugs were around. I was so happy to see a harabirokamakiri (Hierodula patellifera). It’s summer so there are a lot of cicadas emerging from their nymph stage. It’s both creepy and mesmerising at the same time and I am so fascinated by the metamorphosis. Transfixed!!! Tokyo is dense city but it never fails to amaze me how many creatures share the urban environment with us. Nature is amazing! We need to protect exists in this metropolis. After our bug adventure….back to Shimokita for late dinner and a stroll home. I hope you are enjoying my series of ordinary summer Tokyo nights reels.
