#TRICKTUESDAY // Barani Tuck   How early can you finish the twist?   Barani tuck is a basic trampoline skill but it can be difficult to do well. An athlete must show a tight tuck position, a 12 o’clock kick-out, and a half twist, all within a single somersault. The biggest challenge is finishing the half-twist on time. Judges will deduct 0.1 if the twist is not done by 3 o’clock.   How do you know if you’re doing this right? When you reach the final ¼ rotation, you should see a perfect side profile of your body. If you see one leg, then you’ve finished the twist. But if you see two, you’re at risk of getting a deduction 😬   As a left twister, I think about pulling the right side of my hip around   For left twisters like me, a helpful technique is to concentrate on pulling the right side of the hip around as you finish kicking out and squeeze the line. This helps me finish the twist and squares up my body as I’m floating above the trampoline. You can also imagine an invisible fishing line gently tugging the right-side hip around to finish the twist. Right twisters can think about pulling their left side hip around.   Want to learn more?
