When we see crazy high salaries, we tend to think "wow, that person's rich"...but that's not necessarily the case 👀 A survey by LendingClub found that, as of March 2023, 49% of six-figure earners reported living paycheck to paycheck 🤯 As it turns out, it's not about how much you make so much as how much you spend...and earning more money won't magically fix your money problems. If you're struggling with over-spending when you're making $80k, you'll probably still struggle with over-spending when you make $200k. High income or low income, here's what building wealth comes down to: Pay down your debt, keep your expenses lower than your income, and invest the difference (once you have a fully funded emergency fund). And if you struggle with over-spending, here are some tips that have helped people I know in real life: 💰 Pay yourself first: Send a chunk of your paycheck directly to your savings or investment accounts. That way, it won't be (quite as) easy for you to access and spend. By automating the flow of your money, you leave less room for last-minute, impulsive decisions. 📈 Track your spending: You're probably tired of hearing me say this by now, but I can't overstate just how important it is to know where your money is going if you're struggling with over-spending. You can't improve your financial situation if you don't *understand* your financial situation. 💗 Practice value-based spending: Once you're tracking your money, take a look at your top 5 expenses. Do those align with your values?
