#Repost @womenofculturenyc with @use.repost ・・・ One week from today, LA-based Women of Culture are invited to join as we immerse ourselves in the art & culture of the Middle East at the Women Defininig Women show at @lacma The exhibit presents 75 works by women artists who were born or live in what can broadly be termed Islamic societies. Frequently perceived as voiceless and invisible, they are neither. Each through her unique vision is fashioning not only her own definition of self but also helping to redefine and empower women everywhere and to challenge still-persistent stereotypes. Hosted by LA-local, @meredith_maggiora , the event will be a unique opportunity to experience the exhibit guided by LA-based contemporary artist @ayda_gragossian while also meeting fellow art-full Angelinos at brunch before the tour.
