𝗔𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝗔𝗴𝗴𝗮𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗙𝗗𝗖𝗜 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 ‘𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲’ 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 “I distinctly remember the press conference a week before my first couture week with FDCI, the year was 2018. A very eminent person from the trade walked upto me and said that couture in India only thrives on traditional craftsmanship and she hoped I wasn’t showing what she termed as Sci-fi fashion. As I accept the biggest honour of my career, I am only filled with gratitude for this lady who fuelled my energy, who challenged me only to go deeper into my beliefs, redefining norms and carving a niche for a new wave of couture. Needless to say, I was, I am and I shall forever be grateful to my guardian and mentor Sir, Mr. Sunil Sethi. Your support and belief has been the silver lining to my darkest clouds. The entire FDCI family and everyone else who supported my journey with so much love and continue to do so. My first mentor Mr. Tarun Tahiliani,who taught me that couture isn’t just creation, it is and shall forever be, a culture. My parents who continue to teach me by example, to hold my head up high and that the sun will always find a way to shine; and my partner Ankit Chawla who is not only my pillar but my most honest mirror. And last of all my family at AA, the craftsmen, the dreamers and creators your belief, energy and love is unparalleled. We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you. Thank you everyone.
