Instead of trying to find that "one thing" that we’re passionate about, why not allow ourselves the opportunity to "get passionate" about something? Let me start by saying, I didn’t grow up dreaming of being a workshop facilitator... Maybe that’s not a huge shock. 😉 And I used to be very envious of the people who knew what they wanted to “be” early on in life. If only I knew what my passion was, I thought, then I’d be able to figure out the kind of work that I’m meant to be doing! Now that I am working in a field I am passionate about, I've realized I don’t think that’s how passion works. And in my case, it definitely wasn’t! Obviously I didn't always have a passion for workshop facilitation deep down inside of me that was just waiting to be uncovered. (That would be weird!) But I did develop that passion. So maybe that’s how we need to look at that ominous word, “passion.” It’s not something that you have to find inside of yourself, it’s something you need to discover and develop throughout life.
