It’s world breastfeeding week and you might be thinking, what does this have to do with arthritis? Well, to start - everything I do is somehow related to arthritis!! But really this journey of creating life and then being able to nourish him with milk made by my wonky and often unreliable body has been so incredible. It has also been overwhelming at times. But mostly, it’s been empowering and a beautiful connection. A few years ago I didn’t even know if I’d be able to have a baby and once I finally was pregnant my doc and I were immediately discussing how I would have to stop breastfeeding if I needed to go back on methotrexate. So I feel incredibly proud that we’ve made it to nearly 7 months. Who knows how much longer we can keep going, my body is starting to act up again. But for now I’ll savor this time. Thank you, body for allowing me to do this. And shout out to the gallons of coconut water, oats and my husband making sure I’m fed & hydrated for keeping things flowing 😂 #worldbreastfeedingweek #breastfeeding #arthritis #arthritislife #arthritiswarrior #arthritiswontstopme #autoimmunedisease
