Fun fact! I have lost 18 lbs in the last year. I still have a ways to go, but I’m proud of that. Want to know what I changed? Drinking alcohol. Don’t get me wrong, I still indulge a bit from time to time (a little too much at book club last week if we are being honest), but for the most part I have cut it out of my life. Why? There’s nothing nutritive about it. It impacts our sleep. It impacts our blood sugar. It causes inflammation. If you drink enough, it will impact your liver. It impacts your gut health. Now I’m not your mother, and I am not here to tell you what to do or how to live your life. Just sharing my own personal journey with alcohol. My body just doesn’t do well with it. I have Hashimotos (an autoimmune disease) and my body reacts differently than your body probably does. What I am here to tell you, is there are a lot of great alternatives out there for drinks. Most restaurants have amazing mocktails! At home, I love to fill my fridge with tons of options. I always keep a little OJ and pineapple juice around so I can mix up a concoction! And always, always have a fridge full of sparkling water. I’m not against drinking, just have learned it’s not the best thing to put into my body. When I do drink…my trick is coconut charcoal pills from @bulletproof and my castor oil pack from @queenofthethrones right before bed! In the morning, I drink a ton of water with @redmondrealsalt Re-Lyte in it! Let’s normalize not drinking!
