TEARS that NOURISH Original Handcrafted Sculpture. @mattschiermeier @mattschiermeierart Our negative thoughts can consume us and ultimately destroy us, if we allow them to. The chain and bricks represent the weight of our thoughts, the burdens we carry, and how holding on to issues can affect us both emotionally and physically. The wired shut mouth represents a guard of expressing our true feelings; guarded words, tones, and expressions. The things we ultimately choose to hide because of judgement, fear, insecurities, etc. From this silent, guarded internal fire of conflict and trauma, a single tear drop can form. The tear serving as an opening and release to a flood of emotions and expressions that we guard so closely inside. This flooding is an outpouring of pain, criticisms, and internal strife; creating both a pool of water and an internal space for fresh starts. Our tears of sadness and pain ultimately serving as the water that nourishes a new beginning.  Despite what may still exist and what we have pushed though, there is a place inside of every one of us that wants to flourish, grow and love.  A piece of us that will never drown in our sorrows, but instead, learn from our experiences; gaining strength and power.
