10 years since I had the honour of playing Captain von Trapp in The Sound Of Music at @regentsparkoat A brilliant production directed by Rachel Kavanaugh with musical direction by Steve Ridley. 🤓 I remember my agent sending me the script ahead of my audition and I thought “oh God, I suppose I’d better read it!” By the time I got to the end I was in tears. Such a profoundly moving TRUE story of courage, tenacity, love and loss. 😭 The production broke box office records for the Open Air Theatre and we even extended by a week to cater for the demand. 🎫 I had the most incredible summer with an awesome cast including @charlottewakefield1 as Maria, @carolinelkp as The Countess, @michaeltaylormatus as Max @helenhobsonactress as Mother Abbess, @timothyfrances as Heir Zeller, @stuartmprice as Franz, @joshuatonks as Rolf and loads more great actors/actresses. Plus, I got to play Dad to so many BRILLIANT children who’ve gone on to being big stars including @theemilycarey @amybethmcnulty @faye_brookes @_imogengurney @thejaimeadler 🤩 For some reason I can’t find any more photos of this production.
