it’s not new york but hey La is a big city too right? just wanted to post a little bit of gratitude today :) life can get so messy, so hard, so turbulent, it’s important to remember the wins. within 5 years, i got sober, moved to la, lost 2 jobs, grieved 2 relationships, grieved friendships, moved back in w my parents, moved back out of my parent’s house, moved back to la, started a small business, gained a relationship, reconnected with my creativity, gained a whole online community filled w beautiful people, & I BOUGHT FREAKING COUCH! u know ur adulting when ur obsessing over furniture :P it’s been difficult getting acclimated to the new place. running a business is hard. & growing up is no joke. i’m 29 & it often feels like i should be farther along by now. but i also know that i’m on my own precious path. a path that’s all my own. made especially for me. i often have to remind myself, if i was supposed to be anywhere else right now, i would be. so maybe, where i am is exactly where i’m supposed to be. i’m writing this caption sitting on my new couch, in a new apartment, in this new city. i look around, i see my desk. i see big windows. the overcast sky. i hear my bf in the next room eating his morning oatmeal. there’s packages packed & ready to be shipped sitting on the coffee table we found by the trash bins. the colors don’t match & it bothers me but hey it’s a free coffee table, right? this is life. the here & now. the goodness & the hard. the joy & pain. we get through it one moment at a time. finding the gratitude in little things like free mismatched coffee tables & new couch purchases. we find comfort in the fact that everything is temporary. & we find love in knowing we are loved. 🤎 #adulting #la #fulltimeartist #desi #pov #bigcity #smallbusiness #stationeryshop
