We had the absolute pleasure of meeting a former Boys Hall inhabitant last night, whose (late) parents owned the hall in the 1960’s and were the family to discover the hoard of gold coins in 1972. Many wonderful stories were told of her childhood at Boys Hall, how the gardens were landscaped and the walled garden was utilised, the former lake became an ice rink for locals in the depths of winter and her mother fetching brandy from the cellar tunnels to shake up some brandy sours for parties! They were delighted with our restorations and thrilled to see the house thriving and we’re always delighted to meet previous owners and guests who are able to share stories and photos. There’s still some piecing together required for the earlier years pre 1960 - so if anyone knows anything or anyone connected to Boys Hall please do get in touch as we’d love to hear!
