Good evening folks 😁 So over the past few days, if I’m honest I did a bit of a self road trip! Down memory lane! Recently I’ve had a lot of folks on my case to get writing my next book! And truth be told I was finding it really difficult! I simply had no closure that the walk was finished! After so long I think that’s understandable. I decided to drive up in to Scotland and visit a few places along the way! It was insane to see so many spots I had camped along the way, and if I’m honest, as I drove up the west coast, even I couldn’t believe how on earth I completed some of the sections I did! Massive, wild and absolutely no coast paths whatsoever! I found myself just sitting and staring at the mountains Jet and I once traversed in awe of what we had done. It was so special to see it again! I could even pick out spots we camped high up to avoid the dreaded midges! In the end I found myself camping up with Jet in a spot exactly where we camped 4 years ago ready to tackle Cape Wrath! As I sat down with Jet nestled between my legs something just came over me!! It finally hit me that it was done! I sat and balled my eyes out heavier than ever before!! I think more so because the last time we were here Jet was in peak condition! Now she struggled to get from the van to walk a mile to our camp spot! It hurt me to see this but I understand this is just nature doing it’s thing. I can’t expect anyone to get it as I’m the only one who has ever done this walk the way it’s been done! I needed the closure and peace of mind that it’s time to move on to the next thing! Until that happened anything else can wait👊 It’s so important to take some you time and reflect! It was my biggest fault before I started and I won’t make the same mistake again!! Tonight I shall start writing!! I can hear the thunder, it’s raining hard and we are in the tent.
