Wolves maintain balance in ecosystems by controlling prey populations, impacting vegetation & species diversity. Understanding their role helps preserve nature's equilibrium. This image of an Arctic wolf is from my 1st ever assignment as a 23yr old baby faces professional, a little over 26 years ago. Film days up in NWT! I was in awe of the daily encounters I had with this pack. In awe at the sheer size of them up close. I only wish I was a more skilled photographer back then haha! I’ll have to revisit these negatives some day & see what I can salvage. I have been very fortunate to encounter wolves a few more times in my life.
