Hey guys, it’s been awhile… so we’re back for an update on the boys… Killer had a seizure a few months back and as a result we discovered he has a heart murmur and is now on medication for his heart and to mitigate the seizures. He had us scared for a minute there but rest assured he’s still the bad boy you have to love. As for Riley… he’s been experiencing arthritis and continued issues with his hips. Recently, he’s been experiencing more pain and has been responding ok to the pain medication. Riley went deaf a few months ago but hand signals kept him in the game and he didn’t experience much communication loss. The hardest part of his health problems have come by way of cognitive decline. He has a hard time remembering where food, water, potty is and when he looks at me… I don’t think he recognizes me anymore. I can’t imagine how lonely he must feel in this silent solitude but for now, all I can do is keep him comfy and give him snuggles. Killer has been an excellent on site nurse and hasn’t left his side in days. I want to take this opportunity to thank you. All of you. You have enriched our lives and given us so much love and support throughout the past 14 years. We never imagined we would ever have over 70,000 fur lovin friends. A lot of you feel like family. And even though our journey isn’t over, we wanted to express gratitude and love and thankfulness.
