Tilted Perspective of the Earth (And Moonwatch) You would think that a watch that has been in production for over 60 years would have a look that would look out of style over time. But some are blessed with a timeless classiness that can transcend decades. The Moonwatch is one such example. As someone who once owned the 1861 (in Hesalite no less), I will say that it is the minor refinements that make the current regular production Sapphire Sandwich version stand out. 1) The alleged milky sapphire ring now only appears on harsh side lighting. None to be seen here. 2) The stepped dial adds dimensionality to what used to be a seamless main surface. 3) That applied logo when the light hits right is one of those ‘chef’s kiss’ moments. 4) That new female end link bracelet for smaller wrist wearability. A few small steps by Omega, but it’s the little things that make all the difference for us fussy enthusiasts. Now I wonder if I should get that new ‘easy-link-esque’ deployant retro-fitted to this 2021 model. Have any of you fellow enthusiasts actually done it? Let me know if you have in the comments and if it makes a significant difference to wearability.
