So yesterday was my 24th birthday. This year has been one of the hardest of my life. The fun few weeks project of converting a van turned into a months long monster that still isn’t quite done and it nearly destroyed me. But we managed to leave to go on this trip where we’ve ended up in the sunny beaches in the south of France. I thought what a great place to celebrate my birthday, even if it’s away from home (my travel companion made sure I got cake on my birthday, even though we had to wolf it down so it didn’t melt in the heat). But the van had to fight back! I spent the rest of the day trying to fix our electric system which mysteriously stopped working. We’ve narrowed it down to our solar panels which supply power for everything in the van (fridge, lights, water pump, water heater, charging our devices etc). Was not how I’d planned to spend my birthday and the day only got worse at dinner but that’s another story😭 so to anyone that sent me a birthday message or wish thank you. You really kept the day moving. Fingers crossed we can fix the van and carry on with our trip. Wish us luck . . . . .
