“Moonlight Farmer” Santa Sofia d’Epiro, Italy 2023. For @progettoylberi and @gulia_urbana. I’ve had a wonderful week, and I’m very grateful to be a part of this project and spend some time in this beautiful city with its lovely people. Thank you, everyone :) I’ve never experienced such an amazing ceremony for the completion of the murals. Truly something else <3 I usually don’t provide much information about my artworks. I believe it can hinder the thoughts and imagination of the viewer when trying to interpret it on their own. I appreciate it when people connect with my art through their own experiences and create stories along with it. This one doesn't have many elements, though, so I feel like sharing my inspiration for it. If you're not familiar with the term "moonlight farmer," it refers to someone who runs a farm out of passion and might have another job as well. I’ve read in some report that people who work in agriculture or logging, etc., have the highest levels of self-reported happiness. This mural is inspired by the choice to live a life that you want to live. The specific nature of those choices varies, of course, but this and agriculture felt like two subjects close to my life and the Santa Sofia area, and it's something I wanted to celebrate. It's not necessarily a piece about happiness; farming is hard work, but more about the satisfaction that comes from pursuing, to you, meaningful endeavours. Those are not always easy choices to make.
