For sale this numbers matching set of 2 vintage Neumann U87i microphones from 1979 (confirmed by Neumann to the previous owner). The U87 was Neumann's transistorised U67 replacement that has become extremely successful on its own. Beautiful sounding studio microphone that is well familiar to most musicians and these proof that point. This set of microphones comes with original Neumann leatherette storage cases & keys and original Neumann booklet. One case has a rogue serial number compared to its microphone but it is fully correct for the U87, the other case is numbers matching. The headlining of the cases have been serviced with fresh non crumbly foam. These microphones have a factory XLR connector (hence the "I" nomenclature) so no issues finding the right cables when using them in your studio. Excellent workhorse package ready to be used in your studio. Previous owner had the head / capsules serviced by Thiersch in Germany. As proof of service the heads have Thiersch service seals in place, they have not been opened by novice since service. Thiersch has developed a highly consistent output of quality working on Neumann microphones over the years, his work has never disappointed me he is possibly the best in the business.
