⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pageboy by Elliot Page Just wow. What a beautiful and authentic book from the incredibly talented Elliot Page. I am absolutely bowled over by what a fantastic writer Page is. We all love a celebrity memoir because they are interesting, as is this book, BUT they aren't always literary, if that makes sense. This memoir is well written and feels curated. I love the way he weaves in and out of different time periods in his journey and the way all the stories come together to create a picture of a life. He always sets the stage with lovely details that show his attention to small things and his appreciation of nature. You can see the actor's instinct in him as you read too. Obviously I could go on and on about his writing. While Page has had this huge, incredible career I feel like he shines the best when he's telling us the small stories. The relationship moments. The conversations. He sees the big things in the subtleties. Also, I'm almost positive that Page would hate this and I swear I would never actually do this if we met in the street, but I just want to give him a hug. Bless his heart (meant in the actual empathetic sense, not sassy Southern sense). Trans folks constantly have to deal with so much violence and hate and anger and meanness.
