‘No one’s Rose’ / Paul Celan / ‘…Perhaps it is the uncomfortable synaesthesia that Celan's poetry invites that makes it so alluring to artists - to painters more particularly. Paintings dependency on hidden dialects that dismantle syntax, offers us the opportunity to see with more than our eyes. No One's Rose brings together new works by Sofie Muller, Gideon Rubin, Günter Umberg, Niyaz Najafov, Jane Bustin, Liat Yossifor and Aida Tomescu. Each of the artists responded generously to the notion of making this exhibition and have delivered works that are appropriately poignant and meaningful.’ (Andrew Jensen) A catalogue is being published to mark this occasion and it will include texts from each of the artists involved.
