🍫🌮CHOCO TACOS🌮🍫Last year, Klondike discontinued the Choco Taco after a delicious 40-year run. The horror! Last week, out of nowhere and for no particular reason, I decided to bring it back. I am proud to say that this is the best ice cream sandwich I have ever made, and I’m known to make a killer ice cream sandwich. The original Choco Taco was made with low-fat ice cream and fudge swirls sandwiched in a folded waffle cone disc topped with peanuts and milk chocolate. My 2.0 version uses a stroopwafel (not one but two waffle cookies sandwiched with caramel between them), vanilla or chocolate ice cream, rich dark chocolate, and crushed peanuts. The result is far better than the real deal, and that includes the Cookies & Cream Choco Taco. But how did I get those stroopwafels to bend without cracking?🤔 📢The #ILOC way that will change your life in the kitchen: STEAM THE STROOPWAFELS. Set up a steamer basket as you would to steam vegetables. Set one stroopwafel at a time in the basket, cover, and steam for 60-90 seconds until malleable. Lift carefully with a spatula and place in a taco holder for 5-10 minutes until set and cool.
