Finnish sauna culture, it’s a thing! 🇫🇮Sauna is a strong part of the Finnish lifestyle and there are over 2 million saunas in a land with 5.5 million people. 😳 This includes a lot of office buildings and apartment buildings. Besides the everyday relaxing sauna, it’s also a place for a date or a business meeting in Finland. You can measure how tough a person is by how long they last on the top row when water gets poured on the rocks. 😅🤣 The sauna belongs in Finnish daily lives, like sleeping or eating. Every Finn – or 99% (the 1% being newborn babies...?) – have been in a sauna. This also includes toddlers, kids start young. Saunas are not only a part of the daily lives but play a role in some Finnish holiday celebrations. It is part of our holiday traditions during Christmas and midsummer celebrations. The Christmas sauna is a sort of transition from the regular working week mindset into holiday mode. After the Christmas sauna, the festivities begin! 🇫🇮 We went to @loylyhelsinki and topped it off with our fav salmon soup and rye bread. 😋 You sleep so good after a night like this! #sauna #saunaculture #finland #suomi #balticsea #sogood
