I’ve been trying to delay posting this update for a long time but even in an Instagram world, where I try and keep things light and fun, reality does eventually catch up. Some followers may remember that about 18 months ago we found a small lump in Diesel’s anal passage. He was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma ( anal gland cancer) the lump was surgically removed but the chance of clear margins were slim. It is an aggressive cancer, that had already spread. We were told 6 months. So for the past 18 months we have been marking off milestones: birthdays, Christmas etc, all the time Diesel surprising us with his will to live and boundless energy and enthusiasm for life. As you see in our stories, so happy☺️. However, the past couple of weeks has seen the tumour more than triple in size and multiply making it very difficult for him to 💩and causing him considerable discomfort. We are still ticking off milestones but I thought it was time to share. As many of our followers know #cancersucks But on a happy note, the dog that was told he was unlikely to be walking still by 9 years , due to all his joint problems, has been having a fantastic time chasing balls, eating whatever he wants and soaking up the love. He’s still living his best life but I thought it fair to inform everyone what we’re going through, and it won’t be such a shock when we have to make that hard decision to say goodbye. #lovehimsomuch #talesofalab #labs_of_insta
