“If not for yourself, advocate for those who are struggling in silence.” As many of you know, the last two years have been a roller coaster of emotions, and a battle of my physical, mental and emotional health. I share snippets of my life in good moments. Instagram is what you want it to be. I’m usually a positive person and rarely do I write these but so many people have said these posts make them feel less alone and have give them strength to ask for help. Usually the summer is when people thrive. However this is the third summer that I have missed out on so much and thriving is not a word I’d use to describe me. So many days have been wasted in bed, on the couch, in the dark. I went to the beach for the first time in three years - the thought of driving an hour to the beach, setting up, doing nothing and then having to drive back was so overwhelming. I still cry in pain, my heart sinks. It’s august and I have never felt more alone. Getting out of bed every day is a task. I wake up, put some heat and ice on my neck and shoulder and my head and then get ready for work. Every day I mourn the person who would take a shower every day, blow dry her hair and put eye lashes on and coordinate cute outfits. I know washing your hair every day is probably not the best for it, but it was routine and I was happy with it. I mourn my mid - late 20s. I mourn my summers. I mourn being carefree. I mourn spontaneity. I mourn me.
