Maikammer Kapellenberg - Weingut Schreieck - 2021 - Whitewine - Palatinate - Germany - 13,0% Grape Varieties: 100% Silvaner [Anzeige] Today we tasted a great Silvaner from the sympathetic Weingut Schreieck. The winemaker family cultivates around 27 hectares in the Palatinate on the southern wine route. From the famous location which this great white wine comes is the Maikammer Kapellenberg. Located west of Maikammer at the foot of the Kalmit, is the Kapellenberg. In addition to a breathtaking view over the wine village of Maikammer to far into the Rhine plain, this location offers optimal conditions for the production of high-quality wines from almost all grape varieties due to sandy clay soils and marly clay soils. The label is modern and stylish. In the glass is a pale straw yellow with light silver reflections. In the nose are wonderful flavours of apple, pear, apricot, citrus, banana, wood, yeast and a hint of quince. On the palate wonderfully dense, fresh with a great fruit and acid play. In the finish, elegant and long-lasting. This great Silvaner was matured in a 1200 litre barrel and bottled unfiltered.
