Confession: I found something I love more than seeing patients…That is the ability to connect with people through the power of conversation. I love serving as a vessel of information whether that be through delivering a keynote speech, directing a workshop, facilitating panels, etc. It gives me the opportunity to: • Connect with each person in a room through language. • Create an environment that feeds the mind, body, and soul. • Dissect topics into tangible action steps. • Allow people to feel seen through words. Yup I LOVE it. I’ve worked extremely hard over the last 15 years to master it. Doing this well takes commitment. Pictured here: You see some snapshots of me facilitating a conversation on “Women in Leadership for Healthcare”, alongside three dynamic Black women. @drkellyomd @i.am.dr.arumala @a_la_g It was A M A Z I N G. Not pictured: The Prep. At least 8 hours went into crafting this session. This includes: • Introductions with panelists and reviewing their individual backgrounds. • Connecting themes based on the intro dialogues. • Doing research on the topic of leadership. • Crafting a narrative for the discussion with accompanying questions. Then taking that, and adding my spin. My opinions and my unique perspective for the direction I feel the conversation needs to go in order to flow naturally. Then finally spending time meditating, reflecting, and praying for the instinct to allow things to unfold authentically and organically. Results: A successful and impactful session that flows with the needs of the audience present in the room. Thank you @blackhealthconnect for choosing and trusting me to steward this conversation.
