Trusting the Lord comes at a cost: the cost of surrender. I can only speak for myself, but in all honesty, sometimes I’ve made my wounds my comfort zone. This last Easter vigil, I was carrying a pain that I thought was helping me with humility. It was a pain related to realizing how I’ve hurt people. Even though I went to confession for it, I still carried it and felt it as a real shift in my life. I remember after the Easter vigil, I didn't have the pain anymore. It was completely gone. Low key, I was mad at the Lord for taking it away because I thought it was helping me be more aware of shortcomings. This experience showed me the Lord wanted to set me free from the pain that I tried to hold on to. Ultimately, it was a true lesson in humility: trust, surrender, and be set free. God wants us to live and thrive as children of light.
