Pool season is winding down. There are leaves on the bottom every morning now and our little robot vacuum is keeping busy. Some think a pool in the northern states is too much trouble for too little time, but I adore having a pool. After a day of working in the yard, there is nothing better than floating and staring at the treetops and sky. We invested in really good floats (@buybigjoe) and now Brian enjoys the pool almost as much as I do. When we moved into this house, there was a small Walmart type pool where the fire pit is now. After a few hours of gardening, I would just soak in that little pool. It did the job. Unfortunately, Hurricane Sandy blew that baby away back in 2012. We replaced it with another Walmart pool the following summer, and although it had a small pump, you couldn’t vacuum it and it was difficult to keep clean. A couple summers later, we finally bought the pool we have now. We ordered it online and hired someone to set it up. This saved us almost $2000. For several years, we didn’t have a deck. Finally, the summer before Covid struck and wood prices went sky high, Brian and I built a small deck. Because a large deck around the pool was not in our budget, we installed a 6x50 ft privacy screen. We dug holes and cemented in five, 12 ft 4x4s which we attached the screen to. The chairs, umbrella and table were from a promotion I did with @osjoblot a few years ago.
