The tree of life ✨(Aka. the Baobab tree!) The Baobab tree are considered one of the longest living flowering trees in the world! With some specimens living for thousands of years. They have a unique ability to store large amounts of water in their trunks during rainy season which helps them surive in arid regions. They hold cultural and spirital significance in many african communities, being refered to as the “tree of life” due to their ability to provide food, water, shelter and materials for clothing and houshold items. The fruit of the baobab tree is highly nutirious and rich in vitamin c, antixoidents and minerals. Traditionally it is used for medicial properties and now it is gaining popularity as a superfood. This trip has taugh me more than I thought I already knew about the importance of connecting with nature. Something about connecting with the natural environment of your mother land just hits different. We live in such a disconnect world where so many people would rather spend their time online than in the real world.
