Okay, let me be honest. I haven’t read a Jennifer Weiner book since high school. Basically I’m the worst and used to avoid rom coms, 🤦🏼‍♀️ but I have since seen the light. When I read that this book had a plus size protagonist I said sign me up QUICK. 🙋🏼‍♀️ Abby is a bit lost. Her jobs, her boyfriend, her living situation - nothing really seems to fit like she wants it to. Being an avid cyclist, one day she gets an opportunity to lead a bike tour. However when she looks at her group for the first time she recognizes Sebastian, who she previously had a romantic encounter with. Let the chemistry begin! Why does this book have me over here wanting to ride a bicycle?? Which I definitely haven’t done in a solid twenty years. 🤦🏼‍♀️ As much as I just wanted this book to be about Abby and Sebastian trying to not make google-y eyes at each other and blissfully riding their bikes into the sunset, there were some great plot points about mother-daughter relationships too. I think Weiner did a good job writing Abby. She shows how there’s a million other aspects to her life besides solely focusing on her body size.
