Earlier today CHP Oceanside Area officers and San Marcos Firefighters responded to reports of a School Bus that had caught 🔥, near the intersection of West Mission Road and Las Posas Road, in San Marcos. Luckily the Bus driver and all students on board were quickly evacuated and no one was hurt. Here is some important safety information to know if your vehicle does catch fire: 1) Pull over as quickly as you can when it is safe. 2) Once you have stopped, turn off the engine. 3) Get everyone out of the vehicle. Never return to a burning vehicle. Do not try to fight the fire yourself. 4) If you think there is a fire under the hood or trunk, do not open it. This could cause the fire to grow. 5) Move everyone at least 100 feet from the burning vehicle and well away from traffic. 6) Call 911. #californiahighwaypatrol #safetyservicesecurity #chpoceanside #Carfire #safety
