As a woman in a male dominated field, I consider it an honor to have been welcomed in for the most part. Today, I have 91.2% male followers on Instagram and I love the conversations I have with them. I’ve learned a lot and hopefully they have learned a little more about women as well. After all we all have a lot to learn about one another. I never want to come off preachy when I post things like “just a girl” in my stories. I just love to celebrate other powerful women (in all fields) as a show of support. Hopefully, I’m just a small part of opening the eyes of people (women included) to show that we deserve a seat at the table. Corporations talk a lot about being “inclusive” which unfortunately has become a dirty word. My opinion is that we need to bring our young girls up seeing aspirational women in non-traditional areas of life. Make it the norm. To the car manufacturers…thank you for including women in your advertising…now put them in the driver’s seat instead of beside the car. Let our young girls get the same inspiration our adorable young boys have had, for all the years I’ve been alive. Don’t forget…We are half of the buying public. We are breadwinners and decision makers in our families. Don’t go crazy with it.
